SB 828 -- DENTAL HYGIENE SERVICES

SPONSOR:  Scott (Behnen)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 12 to 0.

Currently, the provisions allowing dental hygienists to provide
services in a public health setting for children eligible for
medical assistance under Chapter 208, RSMo, will expire on
August 28, 2006.  This bill repeals the sunset provision.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this is a good program and needs
to be continued.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Scott; and Missouri Dental
Hygienists' Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
